The International Microirrigation School for Crop Production will be offered in California for the very first time on Oct. 13–17. This one‑time, intensive program combines three days of classroom instruction at UC Davis with two days of field visits throughout the San Joaquin Valley and the Central Coast.
Over the course of the week, participants will learn directly from the world’s foremost microirrigation experts. Lectures will draw on the latest research, technologies and practical applications - and all participants will receive the newly published Elsevier textbook “Microirrigation for Crop Production.”
This special educational event is co‑organized by the UC Davis College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, UC ANR, the Chilean Water Technology Consortium and the California Irrigation Institute.
“Secure your place today and take your microirrigation skills to the next level,” said co-organizer Daniele Zaccaria, professor of Agricultural Water Management for Cooperative Extension and Alexander & Elizabeth Swantz Endowed Specialist in Cooperative Extension at UC Davis.
The course is designed for a broad audience, including – but not limited to – water resource planners and managers, irrigation designers and practitioners, crop consultants, farmers and ranch managers, university extensionists and educators, scientists and researchers, students and scholars, as well as personnel from government agencies, consulting firms, resource conservation entities, irrigation districts, groundwater management agencies, commodity groups, professional societies and nonprofit organizations.
Attendees can earn continuing education credits through the American Society of Agronomy and the Irrigation Association. Class size is strictly limited to 100 registrants to ensure an optimal learning environment.
Registration is now open at an early‑bird rate of $1,000 for combined lecture and field trip or $850 for lectures only. Prices for registration increase after Aug. 8 to $1,150 for combined lecture and field trip or $975 for lectures only.
