Citrus Leprosis Threat, Mites, and Mite Management
Dr. Sandipa Gautam, Cooperative Extension Area Citrus IPM Advisor, UC Agriculture and Natural Resources; Dr. Kris Godfrey, Project Scientist, Contained Research Facility, UC Davis; Dr. Daniel Carrillo, Assistant Professor, Entomology & Nematology Department, University of Florida; Tera Pitman, Staff Research Associate, Contained Research Facility, UC Davis; and Dr. Aline Tassi, Postdoctoral Associate, University of Florida. In this webinar, speakers will provide an introduction to citrus leprosis disease, its identification and disease symptoms, its distribution and threat to California citrus. Pest and predatory mites of citrus will be discussed and mite vectors of the disease, specific to California citrus, will be described. Research results about ongoing vector transmission studies will be shared. Best management practices for managing mites will also be included.
