As a colleague of Steve for 20 years, I've admired the impact he's had on weed science and applied weed management in California. He's been an important leader in helping develop and implement chemical and non-chemical weed control technologies in specialty crops. On a personal note, he was a member of two different search committees that ultimately hired me in positions with USDA-ARS and UC Davis and has been an important mentor during my own CE Specialist career.
