French Sorrel

A few years ago, on a trip to San Diego, I visited a garden where a docent was tidying up the herb section after winter. She asked if I had ever tasted French sorrel. I told her no, never having tasted any kind of sorrel at all.

Vegetables Bolting?

Have your bok choy, cabbage or spinach plants recently bolted? (Note: bolting is a term used to describe vegetable plants that have prematurely begun to flower. If you have, you're not alone. Gardeners from around the county have complained their veggies have bolted.

Flowers After the Rains

The front yard has not looked very promising with all the rains. The weeds are growing everywhere. Thank goodness for the chickens that help curb their growth by eating some weeds and scratching for bugs. Since it's a sunny day, I thought I'd walk out there today to see what else is happening.

Oriental Poppies!

My favorite time of the year is in early spring! I have a tradition every year since 2015 of going to Annie's Annuals with my best friend. We make a day of it and is so much fun for the gardener and Flower Floozie that I truly am.
