Hello UC ANR Colleagues,
We’re reaching out to invite you to a virtual listening session hosted by the Climate Action and Land Equity (CALE) Project. The CALE project is funded by California’s Department of Conservation through its Climate Smart Land Management Program. Its mission is to support historically underrepresented communities in gaining long‑term access to agricultural land, while promoting climate-smart land management and equitable land stewardship across California.
If your organization works with farmers, supports land access, or is engaged in climate resilience work in Southern California, we want to hear from you. These sessions are a space to share your on-the-ground experience and shape a stronger, more inclusive approach to land and climate policy in our region!
- Wednesday, August 6 at 10:00am - 12:00pm
- Thursday, August 14th at 10:00am - 12:00pm
Your input will directly inform a regional impact report that lifts up the voices of community-rooted organizations often left out of statewide conversations. The goal is to strengthen advocacy for farmer-centered solutions and create better support systems for the work you’re already doing.
We’ll be talking about:
- How your organization supports farmers and communities
- What you’re seeing and facing around land access and climate resilience
- The tools, resources, and support that would make the biggest difference
- Ideas and strategies you think need more visibility and investment
This is a chance to connect with others doing similar work, name shared challenges, and help shape next steps for land and climate justice in our region.
