About the Event
Join us for a discussion about the different ways to see birds in the paradise of San Mateo County and how to help them thrive. We will cover how the seasons, habitat and migration affect what you can see and hear. The San Mateo County Bird Alliance offers a multitude of services for both casual and serious bird watchers. We’ll even discover how to find rare birds, by using exciting online apps.
Presenter: Douglas Brown is the Outreach Chair for the San Mateo County Bird Alliance (your local volunteer-driven Audubon chapter). He has filled six years of retirement by leading bird field trips and teaching about birds, at all levels of interest. He has 20 years of birding experience in San Mateo County, as well as in other states, Central America and Africa. He also enjoys brown-thumb gardening, hiking and living the grandfather life.
