Learn about preserving herbs. We will demonstrate herb salt, herb jelly, dehydrating herbs, fresh herb sauces using basil (pesto) and parsley (chimichurri) with variations. As always this is a great place to ask your questions and learn more about safe ways to preserve food. Registration required.

Most of us freeze when we see a snake. Some of us run for the shovel or hoe to kill it. What should we do? We will help identify different snakes and their behavior. Get tips on how to avoid running into them. We will also talk about the service they provide as well as the danger.

What you could be eating, what you should be planting and doing in the March edible garden. Join UC Master Gardener of Yolo County, Treva Valentine for tips on legume inoculates and damping off disease in seedlings in your garden.

UCCE Master Gardeners of Yolo County will conduct a workshop on Wreath Making at 1075 West Capital Avenue. The UC Master Gardeners will provide all the materials and instructions to make and take-home your seasonal wreath. This free event is very popular, and class size is limited.

The September talk will focus on taking care of your soil in the winter months, fall planting of herbs, flowers and vegetables, and how to get them established when it is still hot.

Experienced Master Gardeners will be available to answer your gardening questions at their twice monthly gardening Questions and Answers Desk on the first and third Saturday of the month, June 1st, and June 15th. from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.

Jim Schulte will lead a class on Plant Propagation (Seeds and Cuttings. The class is free and open to the public. All who are interested in participating must register in advance by calling (530) 661-2001 or dropping by the Center to sign up.
