This talk will examine preparing your garden for hot weather; irrigation needs and types; seasonal changes for North, South, East, and West; providing temporary shelter from wind; and taking care of yourself in the heat, too.

Thursday February 13, 3-4 pm- Maryellen Mackenzie, UC Master Gardener of Yolo County and rose expert will present Pruning Your Roses Right. Different types of roses need different pruning approaches. Pruning your roses right will result in healthy roses that produce a profusion of blossoms.

UCCE Master Gardeners - Yolo will be available to answer your gardening questions at their twice monthly gardening Questions and Answers Desk, held at Lowes Nursery, 2250 Lake Washington Blvd., on the first and third Saturday of the month.

UCCE Master Gardener-Yolo County, Heloisa Kinder, will give a 20-minute presentation on bees. In addition, Master Gardener Karen Slinkard will discuss when to remove plants from the summer season, how to prepare your beds for planting next seasons crops, and what to plant now.

UCCE Master Gardeners -Yolo will also be available at the Waterwise Landscape Tour in Woodland. This free tour will begin at City Hall in Woodland at 300 First St., upstairs in the Council Chambers. There is an elevator or stairs going to the 2nd floor.
