Building our Community by Supporting our Youth
How to Donate to Kings County 4-H
As members of the Kings County 4-H Sponsoring Committee, we are requesting your support of the young people of our community. Please take a few moments to consider our request.
There are over 250 youth members involved in the Kings County 4-H Community Club Program. They are guided by nearly 60 adult volunteers. Members and leaders are working on a variety of projects ranging from livestock production to gardening, home economics, community service, leadership, photography, woodworking and many others. In addition to the community clubs, the Kings County 4-H program serves an additional 350 kids through in-school, afterschool, and military programs.
The sponsoring committee budget helps support some of the major events which are held each year and provides opportunities for members and leaders to be recognized for outstanding achievements and to receive additional training. Additionally, funds are used to promote 4-H in the community to reach more young people and their families.
We believe in the work that is being done in the 4-H program under the auspices of the University of California Cooperative Extension. We know that 4-H offers young people experiences that will boost their self esteem, give them skills for the future and help them grow into productive members of our community. Investing in young people not only gives an immediate return by improving their lives, but also yields a long term benefit to our community and our world.
